(Southwestern Ontario ) June 24, 2026– SWIFT held its Annual General Meeting on June 12, 2026, in Ingersoll, bringing together members from across Southwestern Ontario to review the organization’s achievements, receive updates, and discuss its continued work to support connectivity across the region.
Following the Annual General Meeting, SWIFT’s Board of Directors met to elect its officers for the coming year and re-elected Gary McNamara, Essex County Councillor, as Board Chair for an additional one-year term.
“Gary’s leadership and commitment to improving connectivity across Southwestern Ontario continue to be invaluable to the organization,” said Barry Field, Executive Director of SWIFT. “His experience and collaborative approach will help guide SWIFT as it continues its work with partners across the region.”
The meeting also confirmed SWIFT’s Board of Directors for the coming year, which will continue to provide governance and strategic oversight as the organization advances its strategic priorities and connectivity initiatives across Southwestern Ontario.
“It is an honour to continue serving as Chair of the SWIFT Board,” said Gary McNamara. “SWIFT has played an important role in advancing connectivity across Southwestern Ontario, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our Board, staff and partners as we focus on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for our communities.”
