Execulink Telecom now offering high-speed internet service to residents living in the communities of Turkey Point and Normandale.

(Norfolk County, ON)  May 25, 2021 – SWIFT is proud to report over 900 homes and businesses in Norfolk County now have access to high-speed internet as Execulink Telecom completes construction of a fibre-to-the-home network to bring improved broadband service to residents living in the communities of Turkey Point and Normandale.

“SWIFT is proud to partner with Execulink Telecom on this very important project as we continue our efforts to expand broadband service throughout Norfolk County and across Southwestern Ontario,” said Barry Field, Executive Director, SWIFT. “With construction now complete and service fully available the newly establish network will not only provide residents living in the Turkey Point and Normandale areas with a seamless connection but it will also support the digital needs of the communities both today and into the future.”

The $2.1 million fibre network, which began bringing customers online in a phased approach starting in Turkey Point last November, is now fully operational and providing internet service speeds up to 1 gigabit per second to residents living within the project area.

In total $1.4 million in federal and provincial funding was awarded by SWIFT to Execulink Telecom to deploy more than 32 kilometres of fibre-optic cabling to increased access to high-speed internet service within Norfolk County.

“The completion of construction of broadband infrastructure in the communities of Turkey Point and Normandale, will help businesses to expand, create new job opportunities and connect more people to the services and information they need,” said Ernie Hardeman, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. “Our government recognizes the importance of expanding broadband to our rural and remote areas and we’re making it happen.”

“We are so pleased that our Fibre construction project in Turkey Point is complete,” said Ian Stevens, President and CEO of Execulink Telecom. “In partnership with SWIFT, we have been able to offer more than 900 premises fast, reliable Internet thanks to 32.4 km of Fibre infrastructure. We often think of communities like Turkey Point as simply cottage communities, but the reality is that thousands of people call these towns home and they have been underserviced for years. With construction now complete, both permanent and seasonal residents alike will have access to the awesome Fibre Internet they deserve.”
