Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) issues a second Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) to Telecom Service Providers (TSPs). The RFPQ is expected to close on June 21, 2019.

Currently SWIFT has twenty-seven (27) TSPs who successfully pre-qualified through the first RFPQ process.

SWIFT has now issued its second RFPQ to allow more TSPs an opportunity to become pre-qualified to participate in the project’s procurement process.

The RFPQ process requires respondents to share information about the exact location of their existing infrastructure and known service gaps, as well as their business structure and financial capacity.

Following the RFPQ process SWIFT will issue a series of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), beginning with three (3) pilot project RFPs.  Only those TSPs who have been pre-qualified through SWIFT’s RFPQ process(es) will be eligible and invited to submit proposals and project plans to address connectivity challenges within their local areas.

SWIFT’s network will be built, owned and operated by TSPs, with oversight by the SWIFT Board of Directors.

The newly issued RFPQ is posted on SWIFT’s electronic bidding site, bids&tenders™ at https://swiftnetwork.bidsandtenders.ca and is expected to close on June 21, 2019.
